Banking and Financial Stability
Operational resilience and ICT risk in finance, taught twice over: as the working methods of the field and as its frontier since 2024, with labs on the Academy's tools, open data and the Nexus Standards.
This area covers the ability of financial institutions and market infrastructures to keep important services running through disruption, with ICT, cyber and third-party risk at its centre.
The EU Digital Operational Resilience Act has applied since 17 January 2025, with oversight of critical ICT third-party providers, and the global endpoint outage of 19 July 2024 showed how one software update can halt payments, airlines and hospitals at once. EUR-Lex, Regulation (EU) 2022/2554 on digital operational resilience (DORA), 2022
