Computing, Data and Quantum Technologies
Quantum technologies, taught twice over: as the working methods of the field and as its frontier since 2024, with labs on the Academy's tools, open data and the Nexus Standards.
This area covers quantum computing, sensing and communication, their realistic timelines and limits, and the transition risks they pose, above all the migration of public-key cryptography to post-quantum algorithms.

The Academy proposes how each discipline teaches toward the Nexus Standards; the mapping is open for public review. Bodies and standards are named so learners can find and apply their published work; the Academy teaches their use and links to the publisher, and no affiliation is implied.

Key terms
The basic unit of quantum information, which can be in a superposition of states.
A task on which a quantum computer outperforms the best classical methods.
Public-key algorithms designed to resist attack by quantum computers.
The threat that encrypted data captured today could be decrypted once quantum computers mature.
Reports is the Consortium's quarterly publication. What you know about this subject can become evidence, a case or a correction in the next edition, credited to you and published under CC BY 4.0 where it is your own work.
Every course is free and open. Institutions and experts can co-teach, host a cohort, contribute a lab or review a course before it opens.
Our articles, maps and twins are free to read and free to republish. Readers and partners keep it that way.
Risk Academy is a not-for-profit institution. To ask who funds a piece of work, use the funding questions form.
Editors and the expert reviewers named on each article decide what we publish. Funders and partners do not review or approve articles before publication.
