What the department studies.

The department's methods are compliance risk assessment, regulatory change management, data protection impact assessment, clause drafting and licence compatibility reading, and trademark clearance, under ISO 37301, the GDPR and the open and commercial licences in force. The faculty's stage is the department's live case in licensing: Natural Earth is public domain, each geoBoundaries division carries its own licence through a gate that refuses what it cannot admit, and the UN Treaty Collection is pointed to and never copied. A graduate can run a compliance change record, read a licence before a dataset is used and draft the clause that allocates a risk.

Department of Law and Regulation is a department of Faculty of Governance, Policy and International Affairs with 2 disciplines. 1 of the 2 courses with their primary discipline here are open for enrolment now; 1 are in preparation.
