Risk Academy, led by the Nexus Consortium · Achievements
Every achievement here is earned by assessed learning and says exactly what was assessed.
Stage 1 of 5
Starting
A welcome state on starting a first lesson. It earns no points and recognises no assessment.
Points never move a stage.
Stage 2 of 5
Building
One course achievement.
Points never move a stage.
Stage 3 of 5
Broadening
Three course achievements whose primary disciplines are in at least two faculties.
Points never move a stage.
Stage 4 of 5
Deepening
A discipline achievement and one Advanced (L3) course achievement.
Points never move a stage.
Stage 5 of 5
Integrating
A nexus achievement or a programme completion record, and one Integrative (L4) course achievement.
Points never move a stage.
Each course counts in its one primary discipline.
Choose a family to read its rule and how many are defined and available.
| Record | Earned by | What it does not mean |
|---|---|---|
| Completion record | Finishing one course under assessed completion: every quiz passed, every assignment graded as passed, every required lab passed | That you can practise the subject unsupervised |
Points are a measure of assessed activity, not of mastery, and never unlock or buy anything.
Each achievement already has a stable address, a version and a fingerprint of its rules, so a record earned today keeps its meaning. Portable badges in the Open Badges format are a later step, designed to follow a decision on their wording and on who issues them; until then, records stay on the learner's dashboard.
Nexus Reports is the Consortium's quarterly publication. What you know about this subject can become evidence, a case or a correction in the next edition, credited to you and published under CC BY 4.0 where it is your own work.
Each open course in the catalogue lists its outcomes, assessed activities and measured hours; once you study, your completion records, achievements and learning stage are kept with the sharing setting for each.
