Concentration, stewardship, private equity and credit, valuation uncertainty and fiduciary duty

Asset management, private markets and institutional investors

Asset management, private markets and institutional investors covers how asset managers, pension funds and other institutional investors hold and oversee long-term risk: portfolio concentration, stewardship, private equity and private credit, valuation uncertainty and fiduciary governance, as how risk is understood, never investment advice.

The discipline in brief.

The discipline teaches concentration measurement, stewardship and the universal owner's system-level risk, private equity and private credit structures with their leverage and liquidity terms, mark-to-model valuation and its uncertainty, fiduciary duty and pension system resilience, and the stress of semi-liquid vehicles that the IMF's 2026 financial stability analysis names as an amplification channel. A graduate can measure a portfolio's concentration and the system-level risk it carries, read a private credit fund's terms for leverage and liquidity mismatch, state the uncertainty of a mark-to-model valuation, and write a stewardship policy with the evidence it will ask for.

This area covers how asset managers, pension funds and other institutional investors hold and oversee long-term risk: portfolio concentration, stewardship, private equity and private credit, valuation uncertainty and fiduciary governance.
