Twin figures for the Horn of Africa and the Nile basin states, counted from its layers at their stated dates.

Twin builder and simulator.

For Geopolitical and political risk: the faculty's twin of Horn of Africa on the planet map, the globe and in 3D. Pick a generator, switch layers, run the instruments; every layer prints its provider and date.

The discipline in brief.

The discipline teaches country and political risk assessment, sanctions and economic statecraft reading, chokepoint and strategic dependency mapping, election and policy uncertainty monitoring and scenario planning for geopolitical shocks, without treating political judgement as forecasting, under ISO 31000. On the faculty's globe its case is the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden view: a corridor whose states, alerts and institutions are read from published records. A graduate can write a country risk assessment that separates record from judgement, map a strategic dependency and build a geopolitical scenario set that says what it is not.

This area covers risks that arise from the actions of states and political systems: geopolitical rivalry and fragmentation, sanctions and economic statecraft, political instability, expropriation and country risk. It is taught in the department of Peace, Conflict and Security, Faculty of Governance, Policy and International Affairs, through 1 course with it as primary discipline and 2 more that also teach it.
